Finally its done. Huzzah!
My lecturer said something about preserving local culture, so I said to myself, Why not? I gathered up my Indonesian fellows and they were so kind as to let me draw their fursona. Okay, so, from left to right are--> --Indonesian Batik-- A traditional cloth made by using dye-resisting wax. It comes in a vast variety of motifs. Here are some fun facts about the motifs in the picture: Fractal Batik (Kokuhane) A mathematically generated motif created by the alumni of the university Kokuhane is attending now. MegaMendung Batik (RyuuMajin) A famous motif originating from Cirebon, RyuuMajins birthplace. Solo Batik (Yoshiro) Surakarta/Solo, a popular city for Batik. Usually the colors are brown though xP Pesisir Batik (Koru) Popular for its vibrant colors; influenced by the Chinese, Javanese, Arab, and Dutch. Yogyakarta Batik (Randy) A city you must visit if youre seeking Batik. Randy is now studying in a university in Yogya. Parang-Rusak Motif (ChefCheiro) A popular motif from Yogyakarta, but this one is digitalized. Did you know that the Parang-Rusak motif was originally worn only by the sultan and his royal family? more... --Javanese Keris/Kris-- A traditional dagger from Java which its primary use is NOT for killing, but rather for spiritual uses. In the old days, Keris are usually forged by blacksmiths adept in using black magic, capable of creating magical daggers with special powers such as healing, protection, or even flight. Some are said to have familiars sealed inside it to aid the wielder (summon much?). Nowadays its still used in cultural ceremonies. more...
